Anglo-American Publications began producing comic books in Canada out of Toronto with the first issue of Robin Hood Comics in March, 1941 at the same time that Maple Leaf Publications in Vancouver put out its first issue of Better Comics. Besides Robin Hood Comics, it also produced Freelance Comics, Three Aces Comics, and Grand Slam Comics. Its most enduring character was Freelance and the company put out its last original issues with the dates Dec. 1946/Jan. 1947 in the indicia.
